Jay presents a wealth of information in a manner that’s easy to understand and to apply. Through a variety of groundwork and saddlework lessons, Jay teaches you how to encourage a willing attitude in your horse. He shares his proven and effective training methods to help you achieve a lighter and more responsive horse.

Groundwork
a respectful partnership!
Groundwork exercises are the essential first step to a successful training
program. The principles of respect, focus, communication and control are
all established through groundwork. Jay stresses safety as the highest priority
when handling horses and the importance of having complete control. From
initial contact in the round pen, to ground manners, to handling and leading,
to trailer loading, Jay presents a variety of topics to help build a respectful
relationship with your horse.
Saddlework
Communicate effectively!
Building on the principles established through groundwork, Jay shows you
how to communicate effectively from the saddle in order to develop a lighter
and more responsive horse. Jay demonstrates how the consistent repetition
of his methods encourages a response that is called “training”.
He presents saddlework that is universally correct in its principles and
can be easily adapted to any breed or discipline.
Jay's Program is intended to accomplish several goals:
- To help you establish a strong connection and a respectful bond with your horse
- To help you build a trusting equine partnership
- To instill confidence in both you and your horse
- To create softness in your control of your horse
- To develop a safe and happy horse
And of course, the ultimate goal is for you to have an enjoyable experience with your horse!
